Yerba Mate' is a tea like beverage popular in Argentina. The word Mate' derives from the word Mati that names the gourd that is used to drink the infusion. Yerba Mate' leaves are placed in the gourds, covered with hot, not boiling, water, and steeped. The tea is sipped from the gourd with a bombilla, a tube 6" long, made from silver, with a strainer at one end to keep leaf particles from your mouth. Nutritious (Vitamin A, B1, B2, B complex, C, E biotin, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium). Acts as a tonic for the nervous and circulatory system, and works as an adaptogen to boost immunity.
